Chen Shenglai Director of the then Shanghai Peoples Broadcasting Station Art And Literature Station - what a LONG NAME for a Radio Station! - together with Brian and Zhou Rui Kang, Music Director of the Radio Station with the long name. This was an early meeting in 1989..... looks like we were talking about how much money I would bring them.
In September 1990 I brought both these "Leaders" to Britain for 2 weeks. The trip cost me 3,000 Pounds!!!! But..... it was a condition of the original contract with the radio station and a charity in Hong Kong gave me the money to pay for it.
Chen Shenglai was - comparatively - a good man and went on to become the founding Director of Dong Fang Radio.

My FIRST broadcast in Shanghai was as a guest on Lu Mings programme in June 1989....
I still have a cassette of this programme at home in Scotland!
